  1. [..YouTube..] That was pretty gross.Fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white.Shake without ice first to froth. Then add ice to the shaker and go to town.Strain into an ice filled old fashioned glass, garnish and serve. You dont need to use that green crap.

  3. The version that uses egg white, simple syrup and lemon juice is definitely the authentic one of making it, but the recipe in this video is also pretty common among bartenders. This is just one of those simple and quick ways usually implemented in fast-paced bars.

  5. [..YouTube..] Well, to be fair, he does point this out in one of his videos. He notes that people who make it at home and very, very classy bars will carry fresh produce, but in the average bar, this is expensive so they use sour mixes rather than fresh lemon juice. But yes, I would use real lemon juice (and the egg white) when making this.Unfortunately, most Americans don’t really give a damn what they’re drinking as long as they’re getting smashed.

  7. [..YouTube..] If anyone served me a sour with only one ounce of whiskey in it, I’d climb over the bar and take the bottle away from him. Also, leave that green crap at home if you want to be considered a professional bar tender.

  8. Only people that really like to enjoy a tasty cocktail pay attention to ingredients. You are right. Most people want oly to get drunk no matter what they are drinking1

  10. [..YouTube..] short stubby glasses. sour mix? no no no. if your lazy ass can’t squeeze a couple lemon wedges in there, you shouldnt make this drink.

  11. [..YouTube..] @WizardofCalculus Yeah, but what do you expect from Youtube commentators? Logic? hah! Logic is thrown out the window, these people leaving comments are idiots and are for the most part, losers. It’s safe to say that most of the people that bitch about these cocktail videos are NOT bartenders and probably never will be.

  12. [..YouTube..] TO ALL OF YOU THAT COMPLAIN ABOUT THESE VIDEOS: YOU ARE NOT A BARTENDER AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL BE. GO BACK TO YOUR MUNDANE JOBS AND LEAVE THE BARTENDING TO THE PROS. SOME INGREDIENTS ARE NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE AT A BAR, IT IS COMMON TO USE SUBSTITUTES. Now, is that too difficult to follow, fellow idiot youtube users?… Thank you, lol.

  13. [..YouTube..] Does the lemon juice that comes in the lemon shaped container that you find in the produce section of the grocery store work as a good substitute for squeezing a lemon?

  14. [..YouTube..] Okay, he didn’t use fresh citrus juice or egg white, and thanks to the rancid sour mix the cocktail comes out a sickly green color at the end; there definitely IS cause for complaint here. But my MAIN problem is that he used 2 parts sour mix and only 1 part whiskey. The alcohol (my favorite bit) will be ultra-diluted and barely perceptible; I wanna taste it, feel it, hold it, love it.Whiskey – 3ozLime – 1ozLemon – 1ozSimple Syrup – 1oz…and a splash of egg white.Big, bold and beautiful!

  15. [..YouTube..] @WickedSteak this isnt a whiskey sour, a real whiskey sour is lemonade, whiskey, and lemon juice(which is the lemon shaped bottle for putting on your batterd fish and whatnot)

  16. [..YouTube..] Sorry ,but you are so stupid..You didn’t frap shaker and glass too..and therefore will in drink lots of water..ughAnd all drinks of whiskey muss go to Old fashion no to the V-Shape..Please excuse my English but I have got true..

  21. [..YouTube..] @jtiano Ofcourse i wan`t drink it, as a matter of fact i wan`t drink any cocktail that uses those premade sweet & sour mixes you seem so fond of.I have worked as a mixologist for a little over ten years and i must say i cringe over your attituide towards bartending and cocktail making. A drink is only as good as the ingredients you put into it. The fact is that you not only make hideous drinks with an outdated approach – you also teach this nonsense to others.

  34. [..YouTube..] You may not agree with the way the drinks are made but 99% of the bars in the US use a premix sweet and sour. We teach our students how to make drinks so they can get jobs. We have over a 90% placement rate.

  46. A lot of haters on here…what’s the point? Does it make you feel better about your mundane lives?

  47. Thanks for your comments. It’s unfortunate that people live with negativity in their lives.

  48. [..YouTube..] @jtiano Let’s see, how much do you teach your “bartenders” to charge for one ounce of Seagram’s 7 with two ounces of citric acid / high fructose corn syrup / green no 5, jiggled slightly? (and that’s you’re too cheap)

  55. [..YouTube..] This guy is an idiot. Vodka sour might as well be turned into a lemon drop martini. Sour mix should always be chilled… and not lime green. It looks like he used the Finest Call Sour Apple Martini Mix or Lime Juice. And Seagram’s 7 shouldn’t be mixed with sour unless you want to make someone regret that they ordered a whiskey sour.

  57. [..YouTube..] wow at no point does he say their is only one way to make a drink he is giving out a recipe for people who don’t know how to make this drink. Like many things in life you can tweak it to your personal preference but don’t call the man names because his way is not yours.

  62. [..YouTube..] @kenc12 Thanks for your comments. There are many variations of drink recipes and this is only one of them that explains the basics of how to make a sour. Drink recipes are like food recipes. How many different ways are there to make an Italian red sauce?

  65. Whiskey, fresh lemon juice, sugar syrup. Optional extras are Angostura bitters and egg whitesThat’s how a whiskey sour is supposed to be made, not with shitty, artificial sourmix

  66. If that is all you have give it a whirl, I am sure it would taste alright. It will also help your hang over with some electrolytes.

  67. naah more likely because most bartenders (like you) can’t make a proper classic cocktail. using that premade sour crap from the store.
